HD1 was built in 1998, making it the newest and fastest ferry serving the
Channel Islands at a top speed of 47 knots with an average crossing time of
just 1 hour.
HD1 can carry up to 100 cars, or a mixture of 70 cars and 10 freight vehicles.
It has a large garage height of 3.1 meters as well as an open deck area,
allowing it to accommodate large vans and 8 meter freight vehicles.
HD1 can carry up to 400 passengers in its spacious and comfortable lounge
seats. For your enjoyment aboard it has a fully licensed bar and cafeteria as
well as a stocked shop offering a wide range of duty free goods.
Shuttle Bus
There is a free shuttle bus between St Malo ferry port and St Malo Train / Bus
station each morning. This service is exclusively for use by HD Ferries
customers.
Pets
HD Ferries does accept Pets (cats or dogs). The charge is £25 per Pet and is
only made on sailings from St Malo. There is no charge for Pets on sailings
from Jersey and Guernsey.
Note that your Pet must be part of the Pets Passport Scheme
to travel on HD Ferries.
