Does one really need to advertise for a restaurant,
when it was chosen, for the 60th Anniversary of the landing in
Normandy, to welcome 17 heads of State…?
Le Pressoir is a big and beautiful building, located close to
down town Caen and its Chef has been the same for ten years
now, young and talented, recently honoured with a star in the
Michelin guide.
Creative and determined, Ivan Vautier composes with simplicity
and refinement a regional and qualitative kind of cuisine, positioning
himself beyond doubt as The Restaurant of Caen.
Hunter and fisherman, specialized in bass, there is no doubt
that this member of the Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe association
knows what he is doing when choosing his products.
The hostess, Isabelle, is excellent at her job of directing
service, which is light yet full of attentions.
There is plenty
of space around the big tables, arranged beautifully with tablecloths
and flowers, and nothing is left to chance in this dining room
with visible stones where the subdued lighting lets the paintings
on the walls express themselves.
The ideal gourmet menu is pure pleasure; it is the “Head of
State” menu, composed specially for Mr. Poutine, Blair, Chirac,
and even Bush…
To conclude, if it has ever been your dream to
be treated as a President, choose Le Pressoir and let yourself
be guided, you will not be disappointed!
