The Alpe d'Huez features a large skiable area accessible to all skier levels. Beginners can enjoy the well-equipped lower slopes, while more experienced skiers can try out a steep run and slopes as high as they could possibly wish for. The resort also has the longest black run in Europe: the famous Sarenne (magnificent!) with a 2200 meter descent. The massif offers an enchanting panoramic view with a lot of sun thanks to its placement. Resort life is very active and offers many activities. L'Alpe d'Huez : 54 slopes (240 km + 50 km Cross-country skiing )
Green ski slope for Learners. These are usually not marked trails, but tend to be large open, gently sloping areas at the base of the ski area.  14 slopes Blue ski slope are Easy. Similar to the North American Green Circle, and are almost always groomed, or on so shallow a slope as not to need it  5 slopes Red ski slopes are Intermediate. Steeper, or narrower than a blue slope, these are usually groomed, unless the narrowness of the trail prohibits it  6 slopes Black ski slopes are Difficult. Steep, may or may not be groomed, or may be groomed for mogul. It is worth noting that 'Black' can be a very wide classification, ranging from a slope marginally more difficult than a 'Red' to an icy mogulfield  8 slopes
