This little resort is one of the numerous access gateways to the vast French-Swiss Portes du Soleil ski area. But Chapelle d'Abondance is also a Savoyard village that has maintained every bit of its charm and fosters the family aspects of a mountain holiday. Easy-to-navigate pistes, bountiful sunshine, and a superb view of Lake Léman promise visitors many beautiful days of skiing. La Chapelle d'Abondance : 16 slopes (50 km + 40 km Cross-country skiing )
Green ski slope for Learners. These are usually not marked trails, but tend to be large open, gently sloping areas at the base of the ski area.  5 slopes Blue ski slope are Easy. Similar to the North American Green Circle, and are almost always groomed, or on so shallow a slope as not to need it  7 slopes Red ski slopes are Intermediate. Steeper, or narrower than a blue slope, these are usually groomed, unless the narrowness of the trail prohibits it  3 slopes Black ski slopes are Difficult. Steep, may or may not be groomed, or may be groomed for mogul. It is worth noting that 'Black' can be a very wide classification, ranging from a slope marginally more difficult than a 'Red' to an icy mogulfield  1 slopes
