Built around an old village, La Clusaz offers an authentic, family-oriented alpine environment. The resort benefits from a wide variety of runs adapted to all ski levels. The off-piste skiing is located right near the ski lifts (20 minutes walk on average, 1 hour maximum). Although the Massif de Balme offers good snow conditions, the resort is not situated at a very high altitude, which makes the season unpredictable. This might be the reason why the environment remains so natural-looking, with its beautiful panoramic views, lovely slopes and numerous traditional wooden chalets. Green ski slope for Learners. These are usually not marked trails, but tend to be large open, gently sloping areas at the base of the ski area.  26 slopes Blue ski slope are Easy. Similar to the North American Green Circle, and are almost always groomed, or on so shallow a slope as not to need it  28 slopes Red ski slopes are Intermediate. Steeper, or narrower than a blue slope, these are usually groomed, unless the narrowness of the trail prohibits it  25 slopes Black ski slopes are Difficult. Steep, may or may not be groomed, or may be groomed for mogul. It is worth noting that 'Black' can be a very wide classification, ranging from a slope marginally more difficult than a 'Red' to an icy mogulfield  4 slopes
