Saint-Gervais, a thermal spa village dating back to Roman Antiquity, has also been a tourist mecca since 1806. The resort is enhanced by a fleet of modern ski lifts that jars somewhat with its charmingly quaint architecture. Similar to the North American Green Circle, and are almost always groomed, or on so shallow a slope as not to need it  23 slopes Red ski slopes are Intermediate. Steeper, or narrower than a blue slope, these are usually groomed, unless the narrowness of the trail prohibits it  27 slopes Black ski slopes are Difficult. Steep, may or may not be groomed, or may be groomed for mogul.
