Le Grand Serre Chevalier
Serre Chevalier results from the union of three village municipalities: Chantemerle, Villeneuve la Salle and Mônetier les Bains. The extensive skiable area offers forest skiing. The location at the border between the Northern and Southern Alps brings the area both snow and sun. In the valley, the landscapes of the Parc des Ecrins are stunning and greatly appreciated by hikers.

Green ski slope for Learners. These are usually not marked trails, but tend to be large open, gently sloping areas at the base of the ski area.  21 slopes Blue ski slope are Easy. Similar to the North American Green Circle, and are almost always groomed, or on so shallow a slope as not to need it 22 slopes Red ski slopes are Intermediate. Steeper, or narrower than a blue slope, these are usually groomed, unless the narrowness of the trail prohibits it 54 slopes Black ski slopes are Difficult. Steep, may or may not be groomed, or may be groomed for mogul. It is worth noting that 'Black' can be a very wide classification, ranging from a slope marginally more difficult than a 'Red' to an icy mogulfield 13 slopes
