The highest resort in Europe, "Val Tho" benefits from perfect snow conditions all season long (October to May). Although it belongs to the 3 Vallées (600 km of ski runs), the Val Thorens slope area meets all your ski run and off-piste needs, even in summer thanks to its glacier. The village is rather spread out, but the regional architecture of its large buildings is well-kept. The adjustment problems to the altitude can cause sleeping problems the first night there, so be sure to go out: the resort is known for its night life! Val Thorens : 67 slopes (140 km + 5 km Cross-country skiing )
Green ski slope for Learners. These are usually not marked trails, but tend to be large open, gently sloping areas at the base of the ski area.  8 slopes Blue ski slope are Easy. Similar to the North American Green Circle, and are almost always groomed, or on so shallow a slope as not to need it  23 slopes Red ski slopes are Intermediate. Steeper, or narrower than a blue slope, these are usually groomed, unless the narrowness of the trail prohibits it  31 slopes Black ski slopes are Difficult. Steep, may or may not be groomed, or may be groomed for mogul. It is worth noting that 'Black' can be a very wide classification, ranging from a slope marginally more difficult than a 'Red' to an icy mogulfield  5 slopes
