Above all, an exceptional natural site famous for its fiery red sunset. The Bloody Islands are an archipelago of four rocky islands of magmatic origin composed of dark rock, diorite and a lighter rock. Seabird colonies nest there; Gulls, Cory’s shearwater, Black-headed gulls and Audouin’s Gulls.
Original flora composed of over 150 species flower on Mezzu Mare, the main island. Some are rare or even absent from the rest of Corsica among them the spectacular Arum which eats flies. The ‘bloody islands’, are also rich and loaded with mysteries…
