The center of Aubusson life revolves around tapestry and carpets. They have been famous throughout the world since the 14th century. It all started with the arrival of weavers from Flanders around 1580 who took refuge at the confluence of the Creuse River and the Beauze.

There’s the Musée Départemental de la Tapisserie as well at permanent exhibitions and the opportunity to take courses in tapestry making as well as make you own.
