Your Destination:

Nancy the city with the golden gates. Nancy "the most Italian city in eastern France"? Explore the city in your own way and at your own pace. With its 18th century UNESCO World Heritage Sites, its rich Art Nouveau heritage, outdoor terraces and relaxed way of life,

Nancy’s two outstanding attractions, among others, are first, the majestic and quite breath-taking Place Stanislas, an outstanding 18th century square inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Second, the movement Art Nouveau is profoundly visible in Nancy. You will find it at the musée l’Ecole de Nancy (School of Nancy Museum), a unique and original masterpiece, or in the districts of Saurupt or Nancy Thermal with their charming public park Saint Mary (Parc Sainte-Marie).

Fairytale cobbled streets, elaborately decorated monuments, a village atmosphere in the centre city and the surrounds, Nancy’s personality always shines through. The streets of the medieval and Renaissance Old Town have changed little over the centuries. The narrow winding roads of this quarter are immediately recognizable on the town map, set between Place Carnot to the west, the Pépinière garden to the east and the 18th century quarters to the south. The small, inviting shops and cafés that line the paved streets make it a delightful area for a stroll.

The New Town is in the eco-district of Nancy Grand Coeur, right next to the train station and the 18th-century UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city centre’s main commercial activities take place here and along Rue Saint Jean Saint Dizier as it crosses through the centre of the city.

For outdoor fun and activities Nancy is surrounded by forest, green rolling hills and winding rivers with a botanic culture. This is another story in itself.
