Your Destination:

Angouléme is the where to head for a taste of old-world French charm. Life moves a little more slowly here. Take a stroll through the cobbled old town with its enticing boutiques and galleries. Marvel at stunning Angouléme Cathedrale with its wonderfully intricate façade. Or find out why they call this the ‘City of Festivals’. In mid-September Angouléme hosts the Circuit Des Ramparts, where rare pre-war racing cars zoom around the raised city ramparts.

Picturesque Angouléme sits in southwest France, about 80 miles north of Bordeaux. To pay a visit, catch a high-speed TGV train from either Paris or Lille to Angouléme SNCF station in the heart of the town centre. The journey takes just a few hours and there’s some stunning scenery along the way.
