Lille is as little as 55 minutes from London’s magnificent St Pancras station by Eurostar. It could be your best bet when travelling to France and beyond. At Lille Europe station you can hop straight onto a connecting high-speed TGV train. There’s no need to change stations in the city like you would via Paris.

Lille is ideally located for journeys by high-speed TGV train north to Brussels and beyond to Amsterdam and even Cologne. Or why not strike out into France via Paris through Lyon and down to Avignon in gorgeous Provence?

There are two major train stations in Lille. Lille Europe station welcomes UK passengers travelling by Eurostar. While Lille Flanders station is the town’s regional station and serves local trains running short and medium journeys

Lille Europe station sits on the high-speed TGV line running north into Belgium and south into the heart of France via Paris. Since it was built in 1994 it has also welcomed Eurostar services from the UK.

The ultra-modern station building, with its 46 platforms, is spread over two floors and contains lots of shops and eateries. But if you hanker after some serious retail therapy, head to the Euralille Shopping Centre. In walking distance of the train station, it’s said to be Europe’s largest retail centre.

Getting to the station –

By bus:
Regular buses run across the city from just outside the station.

By taxi:
You’ll find taxi ranks outside the station exit.

By metro:
If you’re looking to get to the city outskirts, Lille’s efficient metro service is ideal. You can pick it up inside the station.

On foot:
The station is in the heart of Lille. Everything in Lille’s small city centre can be reached on foot.

By bike:
There are Bicycle Spaces onboard the TGV if you want to take your bike with you on holiday.
