Cosmopolitan Montpellier lies in the south of France, close to the Mediterranean. High-speed TGV trains, medium-route Corail Teoz trains and local TER trains run every day from Montpellier St Roch station. The Place de la Comedie – the heart of Montpellier city centre – is just a few hundred yards from the station exit.
Montpellier St Roch station sits on the high-speed TGV line from Paris and Lille in the north via Avignon and Provence.
When you step off the train in Montpellier, you’re just a few hundred yards from the heart of the city centre. Outside the station exit, local buses and taxis are on hand to take you to your hotel.
In 2005 the station was re-named after Saint Roch, a 14th century Christian saint, martyr and famous son of Montpellier.
Montpellier St Roch station has decent facilities for train travellers. You can grab a bite to eat, check your emails or store your luggage if you’re catching a later train.

Getting to the station –
The city’s main bus station is right in front of the train station. Regular services run from here across the city.
A taxi stand is located in front of the station on Rue Jules Ferry.
If your hotel is in the city centre, the station is a stone’s throw away. Why not soak up some sun and take a walk there?
There are Bicycle Spaces onboard the TGV if you want to cycle around the beautiful countryside surrounding Angouleme.
