The train station Marseille-Saint-Charles is a French railway station, the main one in the municipality of Marseille. This end-of-the-line station was built by the engineer Gustave Desplaces on the edge of a plateau near downtown that beforehand was « Gare » (rural property). A first inauguration of the temporary buildings took place on 8th January 1848 for the Compagnie du chemin de fer d’Avignon in Marseille. The station, until a number of years later. Its latitude and longitude geographic coordinates are 43° 18′ 13″ North, 5° 22′ 47″ East.
It is served by the Eurostar, Thalys, TGV Lyria, AVE, TGV, iDTGV, Ouigo, Thello, Intercites, TER and Auto-train service and is on the train line Paris-Lyon <=> Marseille-Saint-Charles, Marseille-Saint-Charles <=> Vintimille (border), Lyon-Perrache <=> Marseille-Saint-Charles (via Grenoble), Marseille-Saint-Charles <=> Marseille-Joliette and L’Estaque <=> Marseille-Saint-Charles with 16 tracks and 2 platforms.
